  • Jae W. Song, MD, MS

    Dr. Song is the Director of the Penn Vessel Wall Imaging Program and Assistant Professor of Radiology (curriculum vitae). She earned her MD at NYU School of Medicine. She completed her diagnostic radiology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and neuroradiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Her research is focused on the translation of neuroimaging methods that improve the outcomes of patients with stroke. Fun facts: Jae speaks 3 languages, lived in 5 countries, & loves traveling!

  • Shraddha Pandey, PhD

    Dr. Pandey is a postdoctoral fellow and co-mentored by Drs. Song and Dylan Tisdall. She completed her PhD at University of South Florida in Electrical Engineering where she predicted stereotactic radiosurgery dose maps in cancer patients using deep neural networks. She is interested in MR pulse sequence design, protocol development, and applications. Fun facts: Shraddha is an avid gardener, animal lover, and active member of animal rescue groups.

  • Yu Sakai, MD

    Dr. Sakai is a research track resident in diagnostic radiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his MD at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is interested in perfusion imaging, artificial intelligence, and quality improvement. Fun facts: Yu is a black belt karate master!

  • Konstanze V. Guggenberger, MD

    Dr. Guggenberger is a neuroradiology resident at the University Hospital of Würzburg in Würzburg, Germany. She is interested in vessel wall MR imaging and vasculitis, specifically giant cell arteritis. She is co-mentored by Univ-Prof. Dr. med. Thorsten Bley and Dr. Song.

  • Pargol Balali, MD, MS

    Pargol is a research assistant at University of Pennsylvania and works on various projects exploring stroke etiology & pathophysiology. She earned her MD at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran and completed her Master’s in Neuroscience at McMaster University, Canada. Fun fact: Pargol enjoys playing piano and learning French in her free time!

  • Manisha Koneru, MS

    Manisha is a medical student in the accelerated BS/MD program at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (Class of 2024). She completed her MS at Johns Hopkins University in Biotechnology. She is interested in neuroradiology and neurointerventional surgery. Fun facts: Manisha is trilingual (Telugu and Latin).

  • David Yang, BA

    David is a medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine (Class of 2025). He is interested in diagnostic radiology, neurology, and rheumatology. Fun Facts: David enjoys singing, playing guitar, and cooking Chinese food.

  • Yvonne Su, BA

    Yvonne is a medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine (Class of 2025). She is interested in diagnostic radiology and neuroimaging. Fun facts: Yvonne has 4 cats and they are all named after U.S. Presidents and First Ladies!

  • Quynh-Anh Dang, BS

    Anh is a medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine (Class of 2025). She is interested in vascular surgery and interventional radiology. She is co-mentored by Dr. Grace Wang and Dr. Song. Fun fact: She is a Lifetime Member of Girl Scouts and has previously gotten "paid" in the form of cookies!

    Huy is a medical student at Drexel University College of Medicine (Class of 2026). He is interested in radiology and the intersection between medicine and technology. Fun facts: Huy enjoys cooking, exploring Philly’s food scene, and building computers/mechanical keyboards!

  • Andrew Hu, MS

    Andrew is a medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine (Class of 2026). Coming from a background of computational biology, he is interested in diagnostic and interventional radiology, with a growing curiosity about artificial intelligence and medical images as data.
